Garr Ugalde Garr Ugalde, co-creator of Art2, has lived and worked in the Sacramento area since 1993. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska he moved to California in 1979 to attend San Jose State University where he studied printmaking and sculpture. Upon graduation he lived in San Francisco and Oakland before moving to the Central Valley. Since coming to the Sacramento region he has set up a sculpture studio and has been actively involved in arts community. A one-time member of the Arts in Public Places Committee he has been involved in selecting some of the most prominent artworks in the city. He has also been commissioned for public artworks throughout the city. He primarily works in bronze and ceramic and is currently represented by the Solomon-Dubnick Gallery. In 2008 he began the Art2 Project with fellow artist Christine Hodgins as a way of documenting and spotlighting artists in the Northern California region. |
Christine Hodgins
Christine Hodgins has been involved in the Sacramento art community since moving there from the Bay Area in the early 1980's. She studied at Sacramento State Unviverstiy where she was influenced by the now legendary art movements taking place at the time. She has shown her work which includes drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture widely and is currently spending her time between her studio and developing this video project. |
